Women & Inclusion
Female farmers produce a significant share of the world’s food, yet they often face the greatest barriers. When women gain access to land, knowledge and markets, they are able to earn an income — strengthening not only their own livelihoods, but also their families and communities.
That is why Heifer places women at the centre of its projects. We work alongside female farmers to build skills, support entrepreneurship and strengthen leadership and decision-making. This enables women to realise their potential and helps create resilient communities.

We target agricultural value chains and market connections that can be profitable for women, youth and local communities.

We combine skills training with mentorship, financial tools and other resources to accelerate inclusive entrepreneurship.

We support cooperatives and business collectives that build leadership capacity and elevate the influence of women in agriculture.
